Our Technical Team has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Garment Technologist to join our team. We are looking for a passionate, hands-on, multi-talented individual who will grow with the company and add value to our team. The position is permanent and there is strong career progression into Garment Technologist for the right candidate.
As an experienced Junior Technologist you will report to the Senior Technologist, whilst building a tight knit relationship with the Design, PD, Buying, Pattern Room Teams and Vendors, to maintain high quality and on brand products.

What will I be doing?

Work alongside the Design and Product departments to develop products, ensuring the quality standards meet our customers and business expectations

Maintain and monitor the Production Sealing Tracker to ensure sealing deadline targets are met in line with the Company CP. Communicating any changes to Senior Technical team and Product team

Analysing test reports and inspection documentation and certification from vendors and third parties, issue care instruction, and take any corrective actions where necessary

Fitting garments with Design teams to ensure samples meet the correct design aesthetic from initial concept into reality.

Update tech packs with fit comments and amend specs & grades, update vendors in line with the CP, ensuring the vendors fully understand and apply instructions

Inspect and measure garments for fit meetings

Work with the Senior Technologist to risk assess product as part of development process

Manage approval of shipment samples

Send out all parcels and ensure courier Tracker is up to date

Help organise and manage any sample requests from the DC

Carry out regular quality checks, advise Suppliers on any quality related problems as required

Analyse customer returns, proactively identify potential problems and propose solutions to Senior Technologist

Develop good working relationships with our vendor base.

Liaising across teams and with Vendors to resolve any queries.

Liaising with the internal teams for customer and product queries

Support the technical team wherever needed.

2-3 years experience in a similar role
-
A working knowledge of fitting, grading and garment construction
-
A good understanding of yarns, fabrics and testing procedures
-
Fully understand customer needs and demands and commerciality

Good interpersonal skills – able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and Vendors. Communication is key at all times.

A team player who is also capable of working on their own initiative

Excellent attention to detail

Good time management and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment

Someone ambitious who is looking to grow with the company and always striving for improvements in all aspects of the business, is innovative and forward thinking.

A relevant qualification in Textiles or Fashion at degree or equivalent level
-
Computer literate MS Word and Excel.
