M&E Buyer Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Salary: £35,000 per annum + benefits Company: Leading MEP Contractor About Us: We are a growing MEP contractor based in Kent, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across sectors such as education, commercial office fit-outs, and residential developments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an M&E Buyer to join our procurement team and help ensure the efficient sourcing of materials and services for our projects. Role Overview: As the M&E Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring mechanical and electrical materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high quality. Working closely with the project and commercial teams, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities: * Source and procure materials and equipment for M&E projects, ensuring value for money. * Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. * Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure best value. * Raise purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules. * Collaborate with project teams to forecast material requirements. * Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues. * Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures. * Keep up to date with market trends and new product developments. Requirements: * Previous experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within the MEP sector. * Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials and equipment. * Excellent negotiation and communication skills. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
