Conquip Engineering Group is currently seeking a talented Supply Chain Buyer to join our innovative and dynamic procurement team. If you have a strong background in procurement and a desire to excel in your professional career, we would love to hear from you!
Please note that this role is office-based and requires the candidate to be within a commutable distance to Alton, Hampshire due to its complexities.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Buyer role is a vital part of our procurement and buying team, responsible for maintaining stock levels and managing a critical supplier base. This position requires effective communication and collaboration with multiple departments across the company.
Roles and Responsibilities

Implement and optimise inventory management systems to maintain stock levels and reduce lead times for key products.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable agreements. Check and maintain stock reports and place orders based on requirements.

Research and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and improved service levels.

Support new product development by sourcing materials and components in line with project requirements.

Raise purchase orders (POs) and manage the procurement process from request to delivery.

Source materials, goods, and services in accordance with specifications and standards.

Address and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, faulty goods, or supplier disputes.

Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
