Salary: Up to £60,000 Title: Lighting Designer (Architectural) Location: London Role OverviewThe Lighting Designer is a key team member responsible for gaining experience in designing, detailing, and specifying projects. This role involves supporting various projects within our studio, working collaboratively with team members. The Lighting Designer ensures the quality of both lighting design and production information for assigned projects and provides support to senior designers and directors as needed. The role requires a professional, well-mannered individual capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver project deliverables and ensure that all necessary actions are completed, considering the timeline, capacity, and expertise of the project team.Maintain direct client and design team contact, acting as an ambassador for the company and representing it professionally at all times.Proactively engage in continuous professional development and share knowledge of products and techniques with colleagues, while developing personal skills.Assist senior staff and contribute to project execution, including detailed specifications and costings.Work across a range of projects—including hospitality, retail, commercial, residential, and external sectors—both large and small.Liaise with manufacturers regarding specification and pricing.Contribute ideas on product design and develop bespoke fittings and specials, coordinating with clients and manufacturers at all stages. Ensure client sign-off before manufacturing.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new manufacturers and suppliers, especially for bespoke fittings.Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of creativity.Represent the company at industry events such as trade shows, manufacturer visits, conferences, and awards ceremonies.Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in lighting fittings, lamp sources, and equipment through trade publications, showrooms, and manufacturer meetings.Support company marketing efforts via social media and assist with website content updates as required.
