Job Description
DP World are currently recruiting for a Stores (Inventory) Officer to join our fast paced operation at London Gateway Port in Stanford le Hope. This role will be responsible for the efficient and effective monitoring of Stores (Inventory) requirements from all departments, support with purchasing of goods/parts, negotiation with suppliers and effective general management of the stores/warehouse operation.
About the role:
- Carry out periodic stock checks and update the EAMS as required;
- Efficient receipt of stock deliveries, unpacking and locating to correct stock position;
- Report all discrepancies or faulty items to the Stores Supervisor;
- Maintain the Store areas in a clean and safe condition to satisfy Environmental and H&S requirements;
- Operate stock transport equipment such as Fork Lift Trucks, Pallet Trucks, Overhead Cranes, Barrel Lifters in a safe controlled manner as per the training manual;
- Control all stock issues, returns and receipts;
- To purchase engineering stock / repair items;
- To review current purchasing practices by tendering out items to multiple vendors – Includes negotiating for bulk purchasing;
- Ensure warranty claims are processed and tracked accurately
- Arrange and package goods for return;
- Issue stock and ensure accurate recording on the EAMS;
- Carry out all reasonable duties as directed by the Workshop & Mobile Equipment Manager / Stores Supervisor;
- Maintain the COSHH data register;
- Adhere to DP World H&S management system and policies
Your Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a Stores/Inventory/Parts Dept.;
- PC literate (ideally with MS Office experience);
- Experienced in EAMS preferred (Maximo)
- Confident communicator able to negotiate and liaise with internal/external stakeholders
- Good understanding of H&S in the workplace and COSHH data;
- Experience working in warehousing/automotive/manufacturing or engineering industries
- Experience in purchasing / Vendor management;
- Experience of arranging services / repairs via an external Vendor;
- Familiar with Accounting functions such as invoicing, credit notes, etc.
- Must hold a valid UK driving Licence
