  • The role is focused on staying on top of the general wear and tear of the buildings and grounds with good maintenance. This may also include…

  • Basic carpentry skills – fitting cabinets/shelves/installing fence posts/stair gates

  • Basic plumbing – changing washers, leaking taps, unclogging pipes

  • Painting/Decorating – keeping the nursery looking fresh and clean

  • Gardening skills – cutting the grass, keeping hedges trimmed, using a strimmer, paths and paving kept safe, weed free and regularly swept for fallen leaves

  • General maintenance jobs – cleaning gutters, windows, pressure washing, keeping shed tidied and tools organised

  • Hazard spotting – keep an eye out for dangerous areas and either fix or report

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker with experience and knowledge in all aspects of general maintenance to join our team on a part time basis.

The safety of the children is our number one priority and we will be looking for qualities that reflect our values in addition to the required hard skills and experience., * Maintenance: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Sick pay, Ideally a minimum of 8-12 hours per week with occasional weekend work and overtime for bigger projects from time to time. There is a fair degree of flexibility with the working hours for this role so please feel free to discuss this at application or during interview if successful. .

Pay: £13-16 per hour depending on experience.

DBS Enhanced Police Check

You MUST:

Be prepared to undertake an Enhanced police check through the disclosure and barring service as a condition of being offered a position.

We require Two verifiable References prior to commencement of work, and you must be able to prove you have the right to work in the UK.

We encourage positive relationships with parents and colleagues but children’s safety is our number one priority, therefore we are committed to a vigorous process of background checks including ID, references, criminal and if successful, observation checks.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
