As the Crew Performance Manager, you will play a key part in the operational team to create a diverse and impactful role. The Crew Performance Manager will oversee the full Crew lifecycle, from recruitment and performance management to supporting the day-to-day operations. You will collaborate across other teams within the business to enhance talent acquisition strategies, build Crew engagement, optimise operational workflows, and contribute to company-wide initiatives that promote efficiency and positive work culture.
Key responsibilities are:
- Coordinate and conduct interviews, working alongside the talent team to assess candidate fit based on both technical and cultural needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Crew regarding their development, feedback and performance. and providing guidance and coaching for professional development.
- Provide and support positive and effective communication with the Crew.
- Managing the welfare and well-being of crew members, including addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Assist with the daily operational tasks to ensure effective and efficient business functions.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance of company standards
People Leadership:
- Coach and provide guidance to Crew members and Crew Chiefs
- Conduct performance-based reviews and create development opportunities to promote opportunities to progress
- Foster a positive work culture in line with the business’s vision and values to ensure that Crew morale and engagement are maintained to a high standard.
- Support the Crew Chiefs to maintain high standards on site and report regularly via bi-monthly meetings.
- Perform regular site visits to ensure compliance with company standards.
Recruitment:
- Support the selection process of new Crew for suitability to reflect the Five Star Crew ethos while ensuring recruitment targets are met.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the business.
- Lead recruitment activities to boost the region’s portfolio of skilled Crew.
Operational support:
- Work alongside the Crew Resource Planner in assigning the appropriate skill set to each job
- Coordinate and manage all administrative tasks during the onboarding process of new crew, including obtaining and providing the correct documentation to the People Team, system access, compliance checks and team integration.
- Conduct driver inductions and assist in maintaining company fleet vehicles, including keeping all relevant documentation and records up to date.
- Any other ad hoc duties that may arise
- Out-of-hours on-call responsibilities as part of a fixed 5-week rota, including weekends.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and/or experience
- Experience and knowledge of working in the Event Crew or Event Labour industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce.
- IT proficient with experience with using Microsoft Office Suite.
