Business Services Manager at South Hook Gas
This job description provides an indication of the types of tasks, results and accountabilities expected from the position and is not a conclusive list of job requirements.
Job Purpose
To manage and implement all aspects of the commercial and operational processes through knowledge, interpretation and optimisation of existing and future agreements, in a way that provides best value for the QatarEnergy LNG N(2) project and the Incremental Capacity at the South Hook Terminal.
Scope
The value of gas managed within the schedule amounts to up to £5.8 billion per annum and the post holder can impact this value significantly.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate, draft and implement new customer and vendor agreements and changes to current agreements to maximize value.
Efficiently manage contracts as the key contract expert.
Develop and present strategies for dispute resolution.
Prepare scheduling and optimisation guidelines to add value, reduce cost and manage gas delivery schedules.
Scope and develop new and existing complex scheduling models.
Ensure systems efficiently manage schedule within contractual constraints.
Negotiate and supervise contracts with LNG and gas counterparties.
Perform and interpret analysis of contractual performance and scenario development.
Provide analytical support to assist delivery risk management and strategic decision making.
Support development of regulatory and gas transporter positions and strategies to optimise system entry capacity.
Identify spare capacity to create third‐party business.
Provide on‐call 24‐hour cover to manage unforeseen circumstances.
Develop complex modelling techniques to support pricing evaluation.
Research, interpret and analyse UK gas data to inform business decisions and manage market risks.
Relationships
Internal: Maintains effective working relationships within the company. External: Represents South Hook Gas across a broad range of external stakeholders such as SHLNG, QatarEnergy LNG N(2), EMGME, TOTAL, and others.

Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience managing complex, high‐value commercial contracts in the hydrocarbon or logistics sector.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commercial and risk acumen.
Good understanding of the UK gas market or LNG.
Experience with complex spreadsheet or model building.
Prior operational experience in a 24/7 operations desk environment.
Political and cultural awareness, ability to work in an international environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Performance‐based bonus (target 20% of basic, grade D).
Pension: 11% of annual basic.
