Engineering Contracts Manager

Do you have experience managing a supply chain ensuring full availability and delivery of materials, equipment, services, and contracts where applicable for the Engineering department? TXM Recruit is working with a rail business to recruit an Engineering Contracts Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Establish priority contracts to support major work packages.
2. Work closely with the Procurement Department to ensure contract timescales are achieved.
3. Management of suppliers and contracts, including formal contract reviews.
4. Achieve best VFM through management of contracts and suppliers.
5. Improve performance and delivery of key suppliers, including the development of Key Performance Indicators for all relevant suppliers/contracts.
6. In conjunction with other stakeholders, develop the materials budget for planned and unplanned maintenance.
7. Maintain the engineering contract register.
8. Meet budgetary constraints in terms of resource, systems, and services.
9. Work with the Fleet Planning team to link materials procurement with heavy maintenance strategy to minimize the impact on fleet availability.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Professional Qualification desired.
2. Experience of negotiating and managing high-value commercial agreements.
3. Experience of traction and rolling stock maintenance.
4. Proven people leader and manager.
5. Continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
6. Broad cross-functional working perspective.
