The Role:

We are a fast-growing womenswear fashion brand in an exciting scale-up phase,

and we’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior – Mid weight Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for creating thoughtful, innovative, and feel-good designs that resonate with women at all stages of their lives.

As Junior-Mid weight Designer, you’ll support the Design Manager and Founder in developing collections that align with our brand identity, focusing on inclusivity, functionality, and style. You will work on all aspects of the design process, from concept creation to final samples, contributing your ideas and ensuring each piece meets the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

  • Assist in designing womenswear collections, contributing fresh ideas while staying aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and target audience.
  • Research trends, fabrics, colours, and customer needs to inform the design
  • process.
  • Create and update technical sketches, CADs, and mood boards to support
  • seasonal concepts.
  • Contribute to the creation of detailed tech packs, ensuring accuracy in
  • measurements, fabric choices, and garment construction details.

Organisation & Recording

  • Management and upkeep of seasonal fabrics and trims.
  • Management of design area, being key team member responsible for the day to day running of this area.
  • Keep relevant visual documents up-to-date to aid the wider team and business
  • Help keep the Sample Room tidy and organised, ensuring all rails and samples are correctly labelled.
  • Work with the relevant team members to help send samples to and from suppliers as and when needed.

Product Lifecycle Support

  • Collaborate with the product development team to follow designs through sampling and production stages.
  • Attend fittings and assist in reviewing samples, making adjustments to achieve the desired fit and quality.
  • Ensure designs are commercially viable and aligned with the critical path and
  • production deadlines.

Research & Inspiration

  • Stay updated on fashion, textile and interior trends, competitor analysis, and
  • customer insights to inspire new ideas and innovation.
  • Research sustainable and inclusive design practices, contributing to the brand’s
  • mission of creating meaningful and functional clothing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the merchandising, production, and marketing teams to align
  • design concepts with business goals.
  • Support the creation of assets for campaigns, lookbooks, and online content by collaborating with the creative and social media teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in womens woven fashion design.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software- ability to
  • CAD in illustrator is a necessity.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern-cutting basics, and fabric properties.
  • Ability to create detailed and accurate tech packs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage
  • multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A great eye for colour and print and a love of textiles.

Preferred:

  • Experience in working within a scale-up or fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of size-inclusive design principles and sustainable practices.
  • An interest or some knowledge of knit and jersey is preferable.
