Are you looking to join an exciting company that is currently expanding and operates nationally?

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager . In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing site operations within the recycling industry.

Your duties will include:

  • Manage site productivity levels by maximising people, plant, and material utilisation.
  • Monitor intake and output levels to ensure minimal material wastage occurs during the production process.
  • Schedule and authorise overtime in line with processing timeframes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and discussions ensuring team member involvement and support.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health, Environment and Community Systems.
  • Report any plant and equipment which is not in a safe working condition and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Report any workplace near misses, incidents, property/equipment damage, or injuries and conduct appropriate investigations.
  • Foster compliance to quality requirements in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor quality of intake material from vendors/customers and ensure correct classification and deductions for unwanted material.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure tasks are performed efficiently and safely, reviewing employee performance and attendance.
  • Manage costs in line with budgetary requirements and financial policies, assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop and prepare CAPEX through the provision of timely and accurate information.
  • Identify actions and make recommendations to facilitate cost savings.
  • Ensure stock levels are managed in line with business requirements, completing end-of-month stock takes ensuring data accuracy.
  • Maintain site security in accordance with company requirements.

Skills:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal as well as processing techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation.
  • Comfortable with financial budgets and profit and loss accounts.
  • IT Literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Navision Systems and a weighbridge is preferred.
  • TCM, WAMITAB, NEEBOSH Licences are desirable.

Hours: 08:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
