Data Analytics Lead/Data Scientist – Insight & Strategy Consultancy

Central London/Hybrid

£50,000 + £70,000 + bonus + bens

A fantastic opportunity for a mid to senior level market research advanced methods analyst to join an independent research and strategy consultancy operating across consumer and B2B markets. Helping organisations around the world create change by seeing their customers, categories, competitors, culture, and context from a fresh angle, your role will be responsible for providing the technical market research expertise across the agency. As an experienced statistician joining the business as the sole analyst, you will have the opportunity to grow a team and develop the offer in time.

We seek an experienced and ambitious market research analyst. You must bring experience with the design and analytical execution of a range of complex quantitative methods, most likely gained from a market research agency. This will include an in-depth understanding of quantitative techniques which should be applied to reach objectives, skills to build and analyse different complex quantitative techniques (pricing, ordering e.g., MaxDiff, Conjoint, segmentation).

Working across the whole business, you will manage external suppliers through the lifecycle of a quantitative research project to ensure data delivery aligns with analytical needs, conduct statistical data interpretation (using Q, SPSS or R), build segmentations, driver analysis, regressions, and correspondence mapping.

Technical skills required:

  1. Advanced Excel skills – Macros, Pivot tables, Conditional Formatting, Data cleaning.
  2. Significant experience with Sawtooth for building conjoint and choice models – both design for in-survey and analytics at the back end.
  3. Data visualisation for reporting and tracking.
  4. Supporting a research team to build best-in-class surveys and to help problem-solve data issues as they arise.
  5. Proven application of the tools above for positive research outcomes.

As well as the technical ability, you will have an interest in marketing outcomes, storytelling, commercial thinking, and in time contribute to proposals and more commercial tasks. Experience presenting to clients and contributing to debriefs is desirable but you must be hungry to learn and build skills, be self-motivated with strong initiative, and able to take responsibility for managing the day-to-day of multiple research projects including timelines, fieldwork, and analysis.
