Nightstop Youth Homeless & Volunteer Coordinator Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young adults facing homelessness Join a dynamic team as a Nightstop Support Worker & Volunteer Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey towards independence. Position: Nightstop Support Worker & Volunteer Coordinator Salary: £27,636 per annum including London Weighting Plus Pension and Other Benefits Location: Bermondsey, Southwark, – London Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Closing Date: Sunday 16th February 2025 About the Role: The charity delivers a wide range of support and housing services for people experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless throughout the UK. The charity’s Nightstop London programme is part of a national network of over 30 Nightstop services run through different organisations. This role is busy and varied and involves working with young people from when they approach the service to when they find longer term accommodation. You will be the first point of contact for all young people, assessing each young person’s needs and risks. In addition you will be responsible for coordinating volunteers as well as organising the logistics of each Nightstop placement and making sure that each Nightstop placement is safe. Key Responsibilities: * Be the first point of contact for people experiencing homeless and referral partners, providing advice and signposting. * Conduct needs and risk assessments with potential Nightstop guests. * Arrange the logistics of a guest’s stay with a volunteer. * Work with guests and referral partners to offer support and opportunities for longer term accommodation. * Provide support to guests and volunteers through a 24 hour on call phone service. * Maintain up to date records on all guests and volunteers. * Support with the creation of reports. About You: You will be passionate about supporting young people and have experience working with those facing homelessness, mental health issues, or who are care leavers. You’re a proactive, flexible team player, willing to work variable hours to meet the needs of clients. Key Skills & Experience: * Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner. * An understanding of the needs of people who experience homelessness, the problems they face and the resources available to address their support needs. * Experience of working with vulnerable people or people experiencing homeless. * Understanding of current housing and homelessness legislation, including entitlement to welfare provision. * Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Risk Assessments. * An ability to work in an organised manner and arrange placement logistics. * Experience of collaborative working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
