Equifind are partnering with a specialist construction company based in Hertford to recruit a Finance Manager. This is a young but ambitious business, growing at around 30% year-on-year. To help sustain this trajectory, they are now seeking a full-time Finance Manager to strengthen their finance function.Working with well-known household names and brands, this is an excellent opportunity to join a company making a tangible impact in the market. You’ll be supporting the owners directly by implementing robust financial controls, improving operations, and acting as their commercial eyes and ears.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and oversee the company’s accounting system (Xero), including reconciliations, journals, accruals and adjustmentsProduce quarterly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow) with commentary and variance analysis across all entitiesManage accounts payable and receivable, including payment schedules and debtor trackingOversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC and pension requirementsSubmit UK VAT returnsPrepare year-end schedules and liaise with external accountantsEnsure appropriate insurance coverage across all entitiesOwn and manage the organisational budget and multi-year forecastsPresent financial updates to the board and leadership team, providing insight and recommendationsSupport business planning, scenario modelling and strategic decision-makingEnsure robust financial policies, controls and risk management systems are in placeCandidate Profile:Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)Proven experience implementing finance controls and processesPrevious experience in construction, development or project management environments preferredStrong people manager with the ability to mentor and support othersHands-on and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindsetPackage & Benefits:Base salary £70,000 – £80,000Discretionary annual bonusEmployer pension contribution25 days annual leavePrivate health and dental insuranceAdditional benefits package
