We are seeking a people-oriented and safety-conscious leader to join our Operations Management Team as a Driver Team Manager. Your mission? To inspire Train Drivers to deliver exceptional service.
Working closely with our Operations Managers, you’ll inspire and motivate your team to bring our vision to life where it really matters – at ground level, on our trains. That means contributing to our overall Business Plan by ensuring our trains operate safely and staying flexible to handle ever-changing demands as our business evolves.
In this varied and exciting role, you’ll lead and direct all traincrew operational, safety, and people management activities to ensure excellence. You’ll also maintain our competence management system, foster a positive safety culture, and drive our operational and performance standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
✅ Carrying out technical and security checks
✅ Promoting a safety-first culture
✅ Assessing drivers and their knowledge
✅ Delivering briefing sessions
✅ Ensuring everyone is fit to work in line with statutory and mandatory requirements
✅ Motivating your team to achieve high standards of quality and customer service
This is covering the North East
Is this you?
✅ PTS certification and a valid train driving license
✅ 3 years of driving experience (for assessments)
✅ 4 years of driving experience (to conduct final examinations with Trainee Drivers)
✅ Ideally, a management qualification (e.g., Diploma in Management Studies or NVQ Level 4)
✅ A solid knowledge of railway operations
✅ A passion for teamwork and leadership
