Senior Structural Engineer

Your new company Hays are working in partnership with an engineering consultancy located in Belfast seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for their Northern Ireland team. This consultancy provides a range of services in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering design, serving sectors such as water, transportation, building, and infrastructure across Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and the Republic of Ireland. They prioritise technical excellence, integrity, creativity, and teamwork, aspiring to be a top consultancy recognised for exceptional project outcomes through robust partnerships and innovative methods. Their goal is to expand exports throughout Ireland, Great Britain, and the Middle East.

Your new role

• Help design and deliver engineering solutions that meet client needs.
• Prepare and issue technical documents, designs, and reports.
• Create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Aim for high-quality and innovative engineering work.
• Work closely with senior engineers to manage time and resources.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure the design works as a whole.
• Follow company systems for safety, project management, and risk control.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Hold a degree in civil engineering and possess a minimum of three years of experience working in the UK.
• Demonstrate a strong grasp of British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Be proficient in using Revit and AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks.
• Have hands-on experience with finite element analysis tools, technical report writing, and developing specifications.
• Be knowledgeable in temporary works and have experience with bridge and highway infrastructure or water-retaining structures.
