Praxis operates from offices in London, Manchester, and BirminghamMain Purpose:An established Surveying and Project Management Team are based in the London and Manchester offices. Due to an increase in workload the current team is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Senior Building Surveyor to join their dynamic and supportive team in central London.This is a unique client-side role within an established team; the role is multifaceted in that the primary purpose will be to manage projects, ranging from small and conceptual works to major refurbishment and development pieces. You will also provide building and construction advice to the internal teams within a privately-owned, vertically integrated real estate investment, asset, and property management environment. You will play an active role on all aspects of planning, refurbishment, development and project delivery across the retail and business portfolio.Utilising your demonstrable, strong knowledge base, you will be responsible for enabling successful project completion in an attractive, cost-effective, and value-add manner, in line with the overarching business plan which we are all working towards.Salary and Benefits:Highly competitive Salary and Bonus Scheme DOE25 days holiday per year plus bank holidaysPMI and Healthcare Cash Plan5% Company Pension Contribution3x Life AssuranceWhy Join Us?At Praxis, you’ll be part a business on a proven growth trajectory, backed by strong investors and powered by a unique fully integrated UK commercial real estate platform.This is a career-defining opportunity for Senior Building Surveyor who thrives in fast-paced, ambitious environments and wants to deliver meaningful impact across a growing organisation.Main Duties:To play an active role in the planning and delivery of sustainable refurbishments throughout our current and future portfolioConduct pre-acquisition due diligence by reviewing building and M&E surveysAdvise on refurbishment costs for business plans and manage refurbishment projects within budget and timelinesAppoint consultants, inspect properties, and negotiate settlements for dilapidations claimsProvide general advice on building-related matters, including tenant alterations and repairsDirect Facilities Managers on lower value maintenance contracts, emphasising value-added work.Undertake financial appraisals and formulate project management strategiesManage planning processes, collaborate with external consultants, and build relationships with authoritiesManage Building Control Applications including acting as the Principal DesignerLead professional project teams and implement statutory proceduresPreparation and co-ordination of design information and contract documentation, administering the procurement and tendering of works and work packages, Contract Administration of the works and financial control through to completion and handoverCompliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations including acting as the Principal DesignerParty Wall surveys, preparation of notices and awardsProvide comprehensive project management advice, overseeing scope, programme, budget, and external inputInstruct and review specialist reportsSupport Asset Managers in tenant documentation completionCoordinate with the internal project management team for effective scheme handover and managementEnsure proper document management in compliance with PREM policyPersonal Qualities, Requirements and SkillsPrevious experience in building surveying within commercial property managementStrong work ethic and effective team collaboration across organisational sectorsAssertive leadership and strong knowledge base for guiding external consultantsCreative approach to delivering challenging development projectsCapacity to manage multiple diverse development projects concurrentlyExceptional negotiation skills and results-driven organizationMRICS qualification or equivalent in building/project managementStrong communication, teamwork, and leadership skillsEffective time management and ability to work autonomouslyCommitment to health and safety, financial compliance, and commercial awarenessWorking Pattern: On-site in London + Regional Travel
