The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, team performance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for great food and drinks, and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences that align with the gastro pub’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.

  • Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance management.

  • Ensure team members deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive work culture.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to review service standards, address issues, and promote staff engagement.

  1. Guest Experience:
  • Maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the pub’s brand and values.

  • Address guest feedback, complaints, and special requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Ensure high standards of service, food quality, and presentation.

  • Regularly review and improve service processes to enhance the overall guest experience.

  1. Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house and bar areas.

  • Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring stock is properly maintained.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.

  • Monitor restaurant cleanliness and ambiance, ensuring it meets brand and health standards.

  1. Financial Management:
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales, labor costs, and profit margins.

  • Analyze revenue reports and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager/Owner to set and achieve financial goals.

  • Ensure all cash handling and financial transactions are accurately completed.

  1. Marketing & Event Management:
  • Assist in planning and executing special events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.

  • Work with local communities to promote the pub and increase customer traffic.

  • Collaborate with the kitchen team on menu updates and seasonal specials.

  • Engage in social media and online review platforms to manage the pub’s online presence.

  1. Supplier & Vendor Relations:
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of food, beverages, and other supplies.

  • Negotiate contracts and ensure the best value for goods and services.

Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in a gastro pub or upscale casual dining setting.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including bar management.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with grace.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L statements.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and food handling regulations.

  • Proficiency with restaurant management software (POS systems) and scheduling tools., * Customer service: 3 years (required)
