Job Purpose:

To deliver a professional HR service to the business. Working as part of a proactive and responsive HR team to provide pragmatic, creative and business focused HR solutions and recommendations across the Company. To build and develop relationships with managers and staff at all levels and to provide support and guidance on a range of HR matters, specifically employee relations, and share best practice throughout the Company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient, effective and customer focussed HR service which supports all aspects of an employee’s relationship and engagement with the Company including terms and conditions of employment, employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and Company policies.
  • Arrange, conduct and chair disciplinary hearings ensuring all necessary paperwork is generated.
  • Handle any grievance issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Be responsible for all HR administration including keeping an organised electronic filing system of all template documentation.
  • Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.
  • Ensure HR procedures are in place for dealing with all new starters and leavers and update procedures as and when required
  • Support the DBS process ensuring compliance with the procedures throughout
  • Ensure compliance with the full TUPE process including executing all TUPE administration, dealing with all TUPE queries, and assisting in the consultation process.
  • Supporting the HR manager regarding training for managers, supervisors and office staff
  • Assist with cover for HR Administrators in periods of absence and holiday

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Knowledge:

  • Previous experience at an HR Advisor or HR Officer level.
  • Experience with conducting disciplinary and grievance cases
  • Understanding of HR legislation
  • CIPD level 5 qualified preferable

Behavioural Skills:

  • Fluent in either Spanish or Portuguese (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with members of staff at all levels
  • Ability to organise and meet deadlines in production of reports
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good IT skills
  • Decision-making skills
  • Ability to problem-solve situations
  • Work proactively in a fast–paced environment

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday role based mainly at our Battersea head office.
