Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary up to £21.50 per hour DOE and Qualifications
Hours/Weeks: 4hrs per week, 17.00 – 21.00 on Thursdays
Contract Type: Sessional – Hourly Paid
About the role:
We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in CIPD to join our Business department at The Bedford College group.
As a lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Delivering and assessing CIPD professional courses within the Business department.
- Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
- Managing students' learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
- Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Department in curriculum development and innovating teaching.
- Teaching effectively on CIPD professional courses, recognising and meeting students' individual needs.
- Researching, developing and effectively implementing new learning materials in a variety of media to engage students in learning.
- Assessing students' work effectively to meet awarding body standards and carrying out verification and moderation.
- Meeting assessment deadlines as set by the awarding body and the college.
- Monitoring and recording students' progress and taking action to ensure students meet required standards and deadlines.
- Maintaining records on students' progress and performance, communicating in a timely manner to the Course Lead where there are issues / concerns.
- Keeping up to date with developments in subject specialism and sharing expertise with colleagues.
- Ensuring that learning environments are interesting and that learning experiences include diversity awareness and meet health and safety requirements.
- Being responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns in line with college procedures.
- Being responsible for promoting equality and diversity in line with college procedures.
- Being responsible for following health and safety requirements in line with college policy and procedures.
- Participating proactively in training and development including qualification development required in the job role.
About you:
- Are CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
- Have English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Industry experience of working within an HR environment
- Have experience of meeting deadlines
- Possess the ability to effectively research, develop and implement new learning materials to engage students in learning
- Possess the ability to extend students learning experience by application of learning to the vocation/profession.
- Possess the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people, and vulnerable adults
- Have a willingness to update skills and knowledge
