The L&D Advisor will be responsible for implementing learning initiatives through the Reed Smith EMEA region and in alignment with Global L&D programming.
This is a broad role, and we are looking for an individual with experience or willingness to learn about the development needs of a range of populations, including trainees, associates and business services professionals.
The L&D Advisor role is integral to delivering a wide range of cross-functional talent development projects across the firm. The successful candidate will be proactive, delivery focused, with an eye for detail and able to juggle multiple projects.
The L&D team works in collaboration across the firm, and the successful candidate will be able to build strong partnerships with other teams, including the Early Careers and wider Human Resources team.

Responsibilities
Management of learning programmes
This is a broad role which will enable the successful candidate to build their knowledge and experience across a wide range of programmes and populations at Reed Smith as part of our global L&D team.
The L&D Advisor will work in partnership with other members of L&D, as well as with other teams as relevant, to manage the programme development and successful delivery of a wide range of learning programmes, including for trainees, associates and members of business services. This will involve elements such as designing programmes, developing materials and speaker notes, writing communications to stakeholders and participants, delivery of training, and evaluation processes.
Attention to detail relating to administration processes, for example calendar scheduling, project plans and checklists, tracking budget spend for individual programmes and maintaining budget documents will be essential.
The L&D advisor will be called upon to act as an ambassador for our programmes within the wider firm, building knowledge of the programmes and who they are open to in order to advise other teams and individuals accordingly.
The L&D advisor will become a confident and skilled user of our global L&D system, Campus, which we use for the management of our programmes and as a tool to make learning materials and e-learning programmes accessible.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, other business services teams, and our learners.
Team Responsibilities
• Suggest ideas for change, innovation or greater efficiency to foster our culture of continuous improvement.• Contribute to team meetings and project planning days, taking ownership for updating the team about key areas of your work.• Work with your manager and other members of the team across a range of other projects as required.
Key Skills, Attributes and Experience
At least 2 years’ learning and development experience in a previous role, ideally within a law firm environment.Confident and willing to engage with people at all levels of seniority.Ability to influence stakeholders.Excellent organisational skills, administrative skills, and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to maintain a proactive customer-service focus and attitude.Able to work on multiple projects/priorities in a deadline-driven environment, remain calm in pressurised situations and adapt quickly to change.Possesses a commercial mind-set with a strategic focus.Capable of working individually and as part of a team; utilising resources effectively and collaborating through strong relationship building.Flexible and pro-active approach to work.Professional, credible and responsive.Ability to horizon scan to keep abreast of trends and changes within L&D.Sets and works to high standards.Willing to embrace firm technology and gain appropriate knowledge of the firm’s systems and platforms.
