Job Description
As we continue to develop our education provision, we now have an opportunity for an Assistant Head Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Head Teacher will aim to secure the success and improvement of the New Forest School, whilst ensuring a high-quality education for all its students.

The successful candidate will have a drive and passion for the development of learning and be able to demonstrate with confidence their abilities to contribute to improving the quality of our education offering. They will play a strong supporting role in propelling the school's curriculum, enabling more of our pupils to thrive and exceed through each stage of their educational journey.
Our new Assistant Head Teacher will inspire, nurture, develop and empower our employees. Will have resilience and flexibility, and have a proven track-record in supporting the delivery of strong educational outcomes for students with SEN. They will lead by example, demonstrating their confidence in developing a consistency in teaching that facilitates the best learning for children.

Qualifications and training
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent e.g. QTLS
- Degree or equivalent e.g. Cert Ed.
Desirable:
- Successful leadership and management experience in a school.
- Teaching experience (Minimum of 5 years, of which 2 years must be in SEN setting).
- Experience of quality assuring and developing teaching & learning.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead Trained with relevant experience of managing safeguarding concerns.
- Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning.
Driving licence is preferable.
