Overview
This is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineer who is looking to move in to a shift with no nights, whilst maintaining an extended period of time off between each shift rotation. A successful manufacturer is looking to recruit a mechanical engineer and is ready to speak to people now. As a mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance as well as getting involved in project and improvement work on site. Being manufacturing, this is a fast-paced environment where you will be challenged on a daily basis. The company are open to speaking to people who are mechanically biased and qualified, but they are also open to engineers who are multi-skilled.
Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer
- Proactive maintenance and site PMs
- Reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns quickly
- Working across mechanical faults and maintenance
- Working on Engineering projects (e.g. commissioning, installations, relocations)
- Identifying and implementing improvements covering both processes machine output
- Adhering to site Health & safety rules and legislation on site
Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
- Time-served / recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject
- Biased and experienced mechanically
- Experience working in a maintenance engineer role previously, ideally in a similar industry
- Ability to and experience of working to a fast pace, ideally confident in a manufacturing environment
