What You’ll Be Doing

On our one-year Civil Engineering programme, you’ll gain valuable hands-on knowledge and experience through an inspirational placement with National Highways.

You’ll focus on exciting projects and activities that support delivery of our transport planning function, providing key analytical insight and advice to help our roads run smoothly.

Guided and mentored by experienced specialists, you’ll get plenty of real-world opportunities to apply your learning and develop your skills in areas such as:

  • A focus on quality and integrity in everything you do, You’ll also need to meet these essential these essential entry requirements:

  • Currently in your second year of an undergraduate degree in engineering or technology and expect to achieve a minimum of a 2:2.

  • Assessment centres will take place in January and February.

To be eligible for a place on the programme, you must be available to attend the 2-day induction, 30th June – 1st July.

All offers for our placement programmes are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, reference, and DBS criminal record checks.

Due to the salary level of this role, we cannot offer sponsorship for the position for individuals that don’t have the Right to Work in the UK. Successful candidates will require Right to Work for the duration of the programme.
