You will lead and manage the design, development, and testing of RF, microwave and millimetre-wave systems within the Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI). You will be responsible for: Designing, developing, and testing wireless systems, including embedded wireless devices and softwaredefined radios. Delivering RF, microwave, and millimetre-wave related research projects. Working with software development tools and wireless network simulators. Developing bespoke software for the control of measurement equipment and operation of wireless testbeds. Playing a major role in the implementation of the CWI research strategy. About the person: We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual with a strong research background in wireless communications. The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: A 2:1 Honors Degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.- A PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics majoring in wireless communications. Be able to demonstrate: Significant postgraduate research experience in wireless communications, embedded wireless, microwave, ormillimetre-wave technology or engineering (minimum of 2 years post PhD). An established reputation in research in wireless communications, propagation simulation, and channelmeasurements as evidenced by publication record in invited/peer-reviewed journals/presentations that are REF returnable. Knowledge and experience of working with embedded wireless devices, microwave measurement equipment. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
