Job Title: Stores Person Reports to: BAE Value Stream Manager Contract Type Temporary (6 months) WorkingHours: Shifts 12.2hrs x 3 days Shift patterns are subject to change, management reserves the right to vary shift patterns and times when appropriate. Department: BAE Location: Global Point Main Purpose of Role: The core purpose of the Stores Person is to work as part of the stores team to provide an effective and efficient inventory movement and dispatch service to the site, whilst continuously improving the day-to-day activity within the stores. Key Responsibilitiesand Accountabilities: Receiving and storing of all factory inventory. Issue and receipt of factory inventory /from factory floor as specified on production card, including preparation of material prior to production. Maintenance of computer record of stores inventory for raw material and finished goods. Carrying out routine physical stock checks and subsequent investigations. Support morning production meetings. Ensure that deliveries are met to fulfil customer requirements. Supporting the capacity planning process ensure the smooth flow of material on the shop floor and that adequate material is available to meet the customer demands, Processing the dispatch of sub-con and finished goods to customer. Access / update customer portal and RLC ERP system Create shipping notifications and paperwork including BOL and Invoice Optimise shipping loads, palletise, strap and label pallets Arrange collections and liaise with customers logistics team Ensure production documents are archived in line with QMS requirements Driving duties for movement of factory inventory & finished goods between RLC sites. Loading and unloading of vehicles, including use of a forklift. Working both indoors and outdoors whilst wearing the required PPE at all times. Collaborate daily with the Stores team and the wider team at Global Point Support and participate in Continuous Improvement activity. Responsible for the set 6S standard in your area, completing the relevant paperwork to a high standard. Always operate any equipment or process in a safe manner in line with proper procedure and appropriate training, wearing the required PPE at all times. Ensuring the correct dispatch procedures of dangerous goods are adhered to. Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet all responsibilities of the role. Qualifications Essential Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) Desirable HNC Level 3 or above in Engineering or other relevant discipline OR Time Served Apprenticeship in Engineering or other relevant discipline Experience Essential 3 years Stores Person experience within the last 10 years. Desirable Forklift License PC skills Accuracy in data management Good organisation skills Competencies Manual handling of factory inventory to shop floor and or material/finished goods for loading and unloading on a daily basis. Expectation of overtime as required. Self-starter motivated with the ability to manage own time. Logical Thinker with the ability to complete daily tasks. Commitment to organisation. Pay & Benefits £15.87ph 25 days holidays and 8 statutory holidays accrued during first years service which can be taken in hours.
