Digital Skills Tutor (Skills for Life and Work) Job Description Employer: USEL Location: 182-188 Cambrai Street, Belfast, BT13 3JH Responsible To: SFLW Operations Manager Hours: 35 hours per week Contract: Permanent Salary: £25,218 – £28,310 per annum (new appointees typically start at the first pay scale point) Objective: To ensure all learners reach their potential, achieve their learning targets and qualifications, and benefit from well-planned, engaging lessons that maximize retention and success. Job Responsibilities: Design and deliver Digital Skills & IT-related training and assessments. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans. Facilitate and manage the delivery of Essential Skills Digital Skills & IT User training to SFLW learners. Complete and maintain individual Personal Learning Plans. Review learners progress monthly. Maintain effective administrative and reporting systems, ensuring all quality processes are followed. Manage time efficiently to meet monitoring and evaluation requirements. Support learners throughout the programme and identify barriers to learning. Ensure the Health & Safety of all participants. Manage system updates and resources needed for programme delivery. Ensure learners achieve outcomes as recorded in their Personal Training Plans. Adhere to all USEL policies and procedures. Carry out any other tasks necessary for the effective delivery of the programme. Work with local employers to secure placements for learners. Person Specification:Essential Criteria: 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English. Hold, be working towards, or willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Certificate in Teaching, UUJ). A minimum Level 3 qualification in ICT/Digital Skills. A degree where ICT comprises at least 50% of the subject studied OR a degree from another university that is recognised as equivalent. Experience in delivering ICT/Digital Skills or Essential Skills training. Ability to engage with and motivate learners to reach their full potential. Desirable Criteria: Experience in Quality Assurance and Internal Verification of Digital Skills/ICT qualifications. Experience working with individuals who have a disability, health condition, or special educational need.
