Randstad are recruiting a number of Learning Support Assistants for Belfast Metropolitan College for the 2024/25 academic year on a part-time basis for term time roles. If you have experience working with young people and vulnerable adults in an education, medical or training setting this may be the role for you. Benefits Band 3 – £13.21 per hour Enhanced holiday package (up to 35 days per year, pro-rata) Parking on campus (both free and paid depending on location) Term time hours (annual leave can only be taken within term time in exceptional circumstances) Various hours (6 hours – 24 hours per week) Monday to Friday hours only, no evenings or weekends Opportunity to work with one of the UKs largest FE Colleges Requirements Essential Have experience of working with young people or adults with mild, moderate, or severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities and/or long-term medical condition Highly Desirable English GCSE at Grade C or above, OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or equivalent (certificates are required) Maths GCSE at Grade C or above, OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or equivalent (certificates are required) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Be competent in the use of a computer to produce worksheets, photographs etc Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting checks before commencement in role including an enhanced Access NI check Duties Working with students to identify and help overcome specific difficulties, but not to provide subject specific tuition Assisting students in accessing campus facilities including opening doors, carrying bags, orientation around campus, general assistance etc Ensuring that all documentation and authorisation procedures are adhered to Maintaining accurate records of all class preparation work and to make these available to the Line Manager on request Making any necessary reasonable adjustments to ensure support is delivered in an accessible manner To provide support to students on work placement To provide support on transport to and from College, and between sites To support tutors in the administration function and daily classroom activities To liaise with parents/carers/guardians when directed to do so To supervise students Randstad Care acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
