MCS Group are delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation in their search for a procurement officer to add to their team for an initial 3 months, with a view to extend. The Role will consist of: Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation process inclusive of evaluation, negotiation and recommendation of tenders to appropriate committee Providing procurement advice on procurement policy and procedures Assisting in the preparation and review of specification and tender documents Maintenance of procurement information on systems such as procurement policy, tender opportunities, contracts and contract management policy Liaising with external procurement bodies regarding procurement of goods and services Developing partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to promote and foster relationships and identify opportunity for continuous development and improvement Maintain contract management framework Assist in the development, implementation and review of strategic procurement policy The Person As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience: Essential: At least 3 years relevant procurement experience and hold or be working towards a membership of CIPS OR 4 years relevant procurement experience and willingness to work towards achieving a membership Working knowledge of best practise procurement procedures and achieving best value for money Desirable: Experience of working within public sector procurement What's in it for you?: Generous annual leave A competitive salary The opportunity to work for a fantastic organisation at the forefront of public sector To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up-to-date CV via the link provided or contact Zachery Downes, specialist recruitment consultant at MCS Group Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
