Overview
The Tongadale Hotel is a 25 bedroom hotel offering comfortable accommodation. The hotel also has a bar and a restaurant seating 52 covers. The hotel has a long tradition in island hospitality having been owned and operated by the same family for over 70 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in food preparation activities. Cooking dishes and plating up dishes.
- Ensuring daily knowledge of dishes to be served, together with the appropriate garnish, portions and prices.
- Maintaining the menu boards.
- Organising and correctly storing food supplies.
- Assisting with the washing up in the scullery and kitchen.
- Ensuring a clean and safe working environment at all times by following all relevant health and safety procedures and ensuring all HACCP paperwork is completed.
- Following COSHH regulations at all times.
- Carry out deep clean as directed by management.
- Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards. Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including knives, grills, mixers and ovens.
- Ordering stock in the absence of the Head Chef.

- Monday to Sunday
- Annualised 40 hour per week over 5 days
- Flexible hours between 6am and 10pm
- Holidays calculated on numbers of hours worked
