Level 2 Teaching Assistant - OASIS ACADEMY BYRON

Contract Type: Fixed term contract

Hours: 25 hours per week, 44 weeks per annum

Salary range: £27,345 to £28,125 p.a. F.T.E (actual £18,476 – £19,003)

Oasis Academy Byron is set in spacious grounds in Old Coulsdon, with a Children's Centre and nursery on site. We are looking to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and has a passion to work in the classroom supporting the teacher in all areas of the curriculum. This post requires an individual with a love of working with children and a commitment to the school's vision of 'support, value, and challenge'

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, flexible, confident individual with excellent interpersonal and behaviour management skills. They will assist and support the class teacher in learning and teaching. The post holder will be pro-active and a positive role model for all children.

As a classroom TA you will be working with a range of children including those who may need additional support to overcome barriers that are hindering their learning, as well as assisting the class teacher.

Essential skills and abilities:

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualifications or experience
• Minimum grade C English and maths GCSE
• Experience of working with children with SEN
• Good understanding of child development and learning
• Excellent communication skills
• A valid working visa/legal right to work in the UK
