Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are working exclusively with a key client in Brighouse as they look to recruit a Transport Manager to join their team.

Key duties of the Transport Manager will include:

  • Management of the transport team within the office and ensuring they are carrying out duties correctly and identifying any training requirements
  • Driver recruitment and management including any additional training which requirements identified
  • Overall responsibility for the planning, reviewing and improving delivery schedules to ensure route optimisation
  • Ensure that the entire team including drivers are professional when dealing with customers
  • Work with other departments to ensure we manage to service our customer requirements
  • Make decisions on vehicle operations during adverse weather to ensure safe running of the fleet
  • Ensure subcontractor relationships are in place for different regions to cover work going to destinations where it is not efficient to send our own fleet
  • Identify and negotiate with agencies to ensure we can source reliable drivers at short notice when required
  • Review the costs of vehicle maintenance and identify any recurring issues causing additional cost
  • Ownership P&L of the transport department, ensuring costs are monitored and any areas of overspend are identified and corrected
  • Monitoring cost recovery on jobs and flagging up any potential routes where it is not cost effective to deliver at current rates to sales/finance
  • Work to improve department KPIs and identify any additional KPIs which could improve understanding of performance
  • Manage the company’s Operator’s licence to enable us to run a fleet of HGV Vehicles
  • Ensure that all vehicles are compliant and work with the mechanic to resolve any issues identified
