Estates Officer/Manager – Historic Central London Estate

Location: Central London

Hours: 38.75 per week (Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:15 PM)

The Role

The Estates Officer will play a key role in the management of the estate, ensuring rental income is maximised while maintaining and improving the property portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

β€’ Managing landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and tenancy agreements

β€’ Overseeing lettings and tenancy changes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with regulations

β€’ Financial management, including forecasting rental income and overseeing service charges

β€’ Handling business rates and council tax, working with local authorities and advisors

β€’ Administering car parking arrangements, ensuring efficient allocation and compliance

β€’ Maintaining accurate records, including tenancy data and financial reports

β€’ Supporting committee work, preparing reports, minutes, and contributing to strategic decisions

What’s Needed?

The ideal candidate will have:

β€’ A property-related NVQ-3 or equivalent (RICS or similar qualifications preferred)

β€’ Extensive experience in property management, including commercial and residential lettings

β€’ Knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 and relevant housing legislation

β€’ Strong financial management skills, including forecasting and cash flow planning

β€’ Excellent negotiation and communication skills

β€’ Experience working with high-profile tenants or within a historic estate is desirable

β€’ IT proficiency, including databases and Microsoft Office (experience with Planon software is an advantage)
