EDGE INNOVATE our currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to Join our busy Paint Shop.

The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility in order to maintain a cost effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery Daily operational supervision of a team of paint shop operatives.
Providing advice and guidance to the team on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting and general repairs, etc).
Coaching and mentoring paint shop operatives to develop skills as necessary.
Estimate painting times, ovens, staffing requirements and related costs to measure production and maximise efficiency.
Hands on approach to develop evaluate and improve manufacturing methods with consideration to appropriate Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Plan workplaces to best utilise space available.
Completing quality checks prior to each job entering paint booth and after each job is completed before it is signed off.
Ensure that the requirement for re-work is kept to a minimum.
Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting all production targets.
Regular updates on progress to be reported to Production Manager.
Liaise with management and other staff regarding Paint Shop capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate overall production processes.
Monitor and record times, methods and performances involved within the paint shop to establish standard production rates to improve efficiencies.
Streamline purchasing of consumable items for painting and blasting.
Ensure reduction in spend via usage and price.
Reduce the amount of orders and deliveries.
Performance Improvement Ensure the companys performance management system is consistently applied and provide advice, support and guidance to team employees in the setting of their annual KPIs.
Achieve high standards of personal performance, through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking planned programmes of professional development, as required.
Ensure high standards of performance of all staff, acknowledge good performance and tackle poor performance positively and effectively.
Financial and Resource Management Contribute to the financial viability of the company by ensuring that the Paint Shop operates as efficiently and effectively as possible and complies with all financial targets.
Seek innovative and creative solutions to help bring about change and service improvements.
People Management Provide clear leadership to staff within the Paint Shop to ensure the provision of high quality service to stakeholders.
Ensure that practices within the Paint Shop support a culture of effective teamworking and continuous improvement.

Review individually on a regular basis the performance of immediately subordinate staff.
Provide guidance on personal development requirements and advise on and initiate, where appropriate, further training.
Participate as required in the selection and appointment of staff reporting to you in accordance with procedures laid down by the company.
Take such action as may be necessary in disciplinary matters in accordance with procedures laid down by the company.

PERSON SPECIFICATION Paint Shop Supervisor EssentialCriteria Qualifications,& Experience A degree level qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience working within a similar industry; On-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable Successful management of a Paint Shop and advising stakeholders on key operational issues; Management / Leadership Qualification.
Skills and Competencies Strong leadership style with the ability to lead change; Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills; Well-developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities; Good organisational, planning and time management skills; Strong computer skills and competency in MS Office applications.
