What is the role?

A Customer Service Assistant in one of our busy yards is a vital role, ensuring yard operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and with a customer-first focus. You will predominantly work in an outdoor environment serving customers and operating a range of forklift trucks, preparing and loading orders. Our Yard Operatives take pride in delivering high quality customer service through product knowledge and advice. Branch hours: Mon-Thurs 07:30-17:00; Fri 07:30-16:00; Sat 08:00-12:00. We are flexible to consider a variety of working hours/patterns to suit your needs.

What will I be doing?

• Responsible for personal and workplace health and safety and adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Work independently and as part of the team to serve customers face to face, aiming to be the best merchant within your local community.
• Prepare orders for collection and delivery and ensure sales documentation is completed.
• Load and unload vehicles, both manually and with a forklift truck.
• Check goods inwards and store them in the correct location.
• Maintain adequate branch stock levels and count accurately for/during stocktakes.

• Willingness and aptitude to learn; basic literacy and numeracy.
• Proactive, can-do attitude.
