Join our clients fast-growing team as a Women\’s Activewear Designer, where you\’ll play a critical role in shaping their new activewear and sportswear apparel brand which launched in August,this 2024. based in the Manchester\’s Northern Quarter district.
The brand is technically advanced apparel with an emphasis on performance fabrics and has been launched online in UK, EU and North American markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a great opportunity to be part of a uniquely structured company with big future ambitions and which is well placed to achieve them.
Seeking a highly focused and organised womens Activewear designer, with the right level of experience in performance activewear and sportswear.
The role will involve working with technical fabrics and production techniques.
The role includes working closely with their product development team, based in Dongguan, China.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Analysing trends in fabrics, colours and shapes and applying them in a way which is relevant to our brand.
• Keeping up to date with emerging technical fabric innovations, which form a key part of our brand’s product offer.
• Planning and developing ranges.
• Collaborate with product developers and to ensure development packages are accurate and designs are feasible, before sampling stages.
• Working to deadlines on all design-to-sample processes.
• Ensuring samples fit to a commercial standard before sealing to bulk production.
• Collaborating with photographers to style products for photoshoots and being involved in product and lifestyle photoshoots.
ABOUT YOU:
• 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role is a must, preferably, for similar apparel brand.
• Excellent design and conceptual skills.
• Incredible attention to detail.
• Deep knowledge of the sportswear and activewear industry.
• Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel.
• Graphic design skills.
• Knowledge of technical processes and product measurements.
• Extensive knowledge of fabrics and technical elements and processes (especially on sportwear fabrics).
• Ability to collaborate with other designers within the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability to travel for research and product development.
