What is the role?

An opportunity has arisen in our Leicester office for an Architect to work in our logistics and distribution sector team. The role would ideally suit an individual who is motivated to develop their experience working with our major clients on a varied selection of projects.

What does the role entail?

  • Working with colleagues to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Taking early-stage client briefs and working these up to footprints to meet their standards.
  • Visiting sites to gain an appreciation of the context and to carry out the necessary analysis.
  • Producing information packs for planning which meet the local requirements.
  • Co-ordinating with our internal CGI team images of the development when they are required.
  • Attending upfront stakeholder meetings to add detail to the project brief.
  • Leading on the production of Design & Access statements and planning approval requirements.
  • Working on large scale masterplans, ensuring all legal and other requirements are added in order to establish site parameters.
  • The production of drawings, mainly in Revit, but occasionally AutoCAD.
  • Working in small project-based teams within a larger sector specific team.

What Skills & Experience do I need to have?

  • Lead roles or significant supporting roles on projects in the commercial sector.
  • Proven use of Revit on construction projects and a good understanding of the package.
  • Very good oral communication skills to build rapport with the client and the other parties involved in the project.
  • Experience of working on projects in the logistics/distribution sector, though this is not essential.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to also work independently.
  • An openness to take constructive feedback, which will be given to assist in your development.
  • Accountability for the information produced, ensuring it meets the required standards that the practice adheres to.
  • Excellent written and well-structured drawings skills.
