Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – (Maths Support)

Location: Highbury Campus, Sixth Form Campus & Northarbour Campus, Portsmouth

Salary:£22,823.51 – £23,363.71 – Full Time Equivalent

Job Type: 29 hours per week, 36 weeks per year, Term Time Only, Permanent

About the role: As a Maths Support Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at City of Portsmouth College, you will be required to support a group of students who are studying GCSE maths as part of their programme of study at the college. You will work closely with the teacher to ensure all students are progressing well and being supported as required with their studies. You will promote the importance of gaining excellent numeracy skills and high expectations to ensure the student achieves their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer support as required to a group of maths students
  • Monitor and record students' progress
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • Ability to support young people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent maths skills and to have gained at least a Grade 4 / C in GCSE maths or Level 2 Functional Skills maths
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
