A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join my clients team in their Chislehurst office.
Key Responsibilities:
– A willingness to learn to support the Fee Earner in the management of the secretarial workload, ensuring that the priorities of the department are met.
-To support Fee Earners in the production of files by typing work as directed.
-To support Fee Earners in the maintenance of files by effective file management.
– Using Case Management/Ledger Systems Verifying client identification in accordance with company Laundering Policy Guidelines.
– Opening Files issuing initial documentation/client care forms.
– Reviewing files ready for archiving/closing files.
– To assist Fee Earners in the management of case-load by dealing with file related queries either face to face or by telephone.
– To ensure that clients are dealt with efficiently and politely and that appropriate legal matters are raised with the Fee Earner.
– To assist in general office administration and in the locating of files when necessary.
– To undertake photocopying when necessary.
– To answer external/internal telephone calls efficiently and politely and take messages, as and when necessary.
– To manage own and Fee Earner diary and update completions calendar.
Experience Required:
– Computer literate with good keyboard skills and a working knowledge of using software packages. (Essential)
– Recent practical experience of using word processing packages (preferably Microsoft Word). (Essential)
– Recent practical experience of working in an office environment. (Essential)
– Practical experience of handling client enquiries both by telephone and face to face. (Essential)
– Working knowledge of using photocopiers. (Essential)
– Practical experience of working in a legal office environment. (Desirable)
– Experience of working in a networked Windows environment. (Desirable)
– Demonstrates a commitment to personal development. (Desirable)
