Software Engineer (Java)

Java Software Engineer Embedded Applications & Systems Defence Company Bristol Up to 65 per hour (Inside IR35) 12 Month Contract (Extensions likely) SC Eligibility Required

MERITUS are working with a leading defence company lookign to grow their Software Engineering capability at their Bristol site. They’re looking for experienced Software Engineers with experience in the design & build of complex secure systems using Java.

The successful candidate will be part of a high performing team working on next generation defence capability. This is a contract role running for an initial 12 months although extensions are highly likely.

Skills Required:

• Strong background in software realisation, with hands-on experience in Java and additional languages such as Ada.
• Familiarity with DDS middleware, Real-Time Operating Systems, and related standards like DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508.
• A collaborative, open approach to development, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comprehensive experience across the entire software development process, from requirements to target integration and automation.
