Leading national charity are looking for an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join their leadership team.
Position: Philanthropy Manager
Location: Remote (occasional travel to Bath)
Salary: £45-50k per annum
Hours: 30-37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role:
This leading national charity is embarking on an exciting journey to diversify and grow its income streams. This role will focus on establishing a major donor programme to secure five- and six-figure gifts, while cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of new and existing donors.
The successful candidate will develop tailored engagement plans, providing donors with unique insights into the organisation’s impactful work, and will collaborate closely with colleagues to gain a deep understanding of the charity’s mission.
You will be a skilled communicator and relationship builder, adept at understanding donor motivations and identifying opportunities. With proven experience in prospect research and pipeline development, you will be an expert networker with a passion for creating meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver agreed income targets, KPIs, and strategic objectives, providing regular progress reports.
- Proactively identify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of prospective major donors, focusing on five- and six-figure gifts.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing donors to maximise charitable income.
- Research donor opportunities, develop personalised stewardship plans, and create compelling proposals to secure significant gifts.
- Plan, manage, and host donor engagement and cultivation events, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Provide clear briefings for senior staff to support donor relationships and deepen engagement.
- Represent the organisation at external events, networking opportunities, and funding pitches.
- Maintain accurate donor records, ensuring GDPR compliance, and support the wider fundraising team where needed.
About You:
- Proven experience of securing high value gifts in a donor-facing role or generating income from high-net-worth individuals.
- Skilled networker with the ability to identify new prospects and build long-term, meaningful relationships.
- Strong background in prospect and donor research, delivering clear and thorough written and verbal briefings.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
- Confident and articulate communicator, including as a public speaker, able to engage with diverse audiences in group or one-on-one settings.
- Highly organised multitasker with effective time management skills, accustomed to prioritising and meeting tight deadlines.
- Adaptable, self-motivated team player who takes personal responsibility and shows initiative in solving challenges.
- Focused with exceptional attention to detail, able to remain calm and level-headed in varying situations
