In this role, you will manage project electrical resources to ensure compliance with design requirements, maintain project schedules, and collaborate with clients. You will support key solutions such as Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hydrogen, and open/combined cycle power generation, with a focus on balance of plant, grid connection, and transmission infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to business development efforts, including bids, proposals, and the EPC tendering process.
As a technical specialist, you will lead and mentor project teams of Electrical Engineers, working under the guidance of a Lead Electrical Engineer. You will provide technical leadership to global design teams, overseeing the development of drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), studies, and reports., + Serves as a senior technical specialist, serving as the senior electrical discipline engineer on project teams, including overseas design offices.

Interpreting, applying, and providing direction for complex engineering deliverables.

Typically supports multiple projects on complex technical challenges.

Manages and works alongside other professionals in inter-department multi-disciplinary teams.

Researches and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.

Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively developed, implemented, and communicated.

Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.

Responsible for the development and/or approval of complex engineering calculations.

Manages assigned project budget, schedule and quality requirements.

Leverages global subject matter expertise within Black & Veatch to optimize electrical qualifications and knowledge sharing.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.

Chartered Engineer

Prior experience leading a team of engineers.

Sound understanding of UK Grid Code and relevant regulations, with significant experience on UK electrical engineering projects.

Experience with high voltage (HV) electrical engineering and balance of plant (LV/MV) electrical engineering.

Experience with Solar, Wind, BESS, Combined Cycle, Hydrogen, Grid/Substation Projects.

Previous experience in electrical generation, transmission / distribution systems and Grid Code regulations and compliance processes. Experience interfacing with DNOs and confident engaging with clients.

Has worked on AIS or GIS 220 kV and above.

MS Excel skills and ability related to design.
