RAFAKidz provides high quality, affordable early years childcare and wraparound services to the children of serving RAF personnel and the wider defence community (other military personnel, civil servants, contractors and their families). Since its inception in 2019, RAFAKidz has grown rapidly. Currently comprising 18 registered settings in England and Wales, four further settings will be added in Q2 2025 and further growth is anticipated in the near future. RAFAKidz is a not-for-profit organisation, reinvesting surplus income to support the RAF community.
About the role
The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for RAFAKidz, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable and accessible early years childcare services. The role is accountable for operational excellence, financial sustainability and the development of a motivated, high-performing workforce, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with the organisation’s mission and values. You can expect to be fully hands-on, leading on the development of this fast-growing organisation.
About you
Commercially-minded, you will have a proven track record in a senior leadership role within a similar-sized multi-site organisation. You will have experience of meeting stretching targets, improving efficiency and achieving large-scale financial sustainability. You will possess exceptional leadership and people management skills and will be resilient, adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be an articulate and persuasive communicator, passionate about early years education and the wellbeing of children and families.
