Expleo are recruiting on behalf of our prestige automotive focused client based in Staffordshire for a Systems Engineer. This contract position, available inside or outside IR35, will initially be offered for a duration of 3 – 6 months. The successful candidate will join a highly focused and passionate team leading the delivery of electrical/electronic engineering across the business. Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer will include: * Translate customer requirements into clear deliverables. * Select hardware/network platforms considering environmental and cost targets. * Develop prototype solutions in an agile environment. * Create network architectures to meet requirements. * Coordinate with 3rd party vendors for requirements and architectures. * Ensure ECU communication protocols (SAE J1939, Ethernet, BT, WIFI) are robust. * Consider design for manufacture in programming and parameter configuration. * Monitor system health via diagnostic protocols and over-the-air communications. * Work with industry standard development techniques (V Model, software processes). * Address functional safety solutions and security (cyber/digital resilience). * Support cause and effect analysis (risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa/fishbone). Background, skills and experience required for the Systems Engineer role: * Ideally experienced in Tier 1 or OE sectors within system engineering or network development. * Qualified to HND/Degree level in an electronic/software-based technology discipline or equivalent experience. * Comfortable supporting and completing cause and effect analysis, including risk assessments, FMEA, and 8D. * Strong base knowledge of electronic and software development.
