A wonderful school in Headington is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker. The school is seeking an individual who is patient, passionate about education, and looking to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The role would start in the new academic year - September 2025.

What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker:

  • The opportunity will primarily be based on supporting students in the classroom with their mental health.
  • These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions, stemming from childhood trauma, causing stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • You will help them to process and regulate their emotions.
  • You will shadow the class teacher and provide support with general classroom duties.
  • You will be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals in the education and mental health field.

The successful Mental Health Support Worker will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. You will need to be flexible and able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude is most important, and you must be passionate about making a difference.

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable and rewarding experience while making an impact and being exposed to various teaching methods and techniques to help children with their mental health needs.
