CBS News London bureau is looking for a News Producer to join its team providing foreign news from around the world. News producers are the first to be deployed to a breaking news story and do regular rotations on long-term major news stories. On deployment, they guide their correspondent and camera teams to generate original packaged and live content for delivery to all platforms across CBS News, Stations, Online, Radio and Streaming. These assignments regularly involve travel to extreme high-risk environments. When in London these roles work as catching producers who also pitch stories. From conceiving and selling a story, it is their job to get a budget approved, arrange staffing and logistics, set up interviews, coordinate transmission, and approve the final versions of the material. They are also regularly tasked to plan and coordinate major event coverage and anchor remotes, plus assisting on occasion with the running of the bureau operation. The Producer will be a creative,
productive, effective, resilient problem solver both in the bureau and in the field.

Ability to operate field equipment including small cameras and satellite phones

Ability to transmit on location using LiveU, Starlink and Satcube amongst other softwares

Ability to select the rushes to feed on location

Ability to source verifiable video and stills from user generated images, in coordination with the CBS Confirmed team

Ability to record voice tracks and deliver to CBS News using different systems/apps.

Familiarity with all aspects of protection including emergency first aid

Willingness to report from the field if the correspondent is unavailable.

Substantial experience as a travelling and catching news producer
