We are looking for a Defects and Aftercare Manager to provide expert technical advice on the new build programme, ensuring effective quality control and compliance with all construction-related matters. Lead the defects management process while maintaining excellent customer care.

What you'll be doing:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders to resolve defects within the 12-month contractual defect period.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage defects, end of inspections and improve KPI performance and reporting.
  • Ensure effective contract management and contractor performance during the defect period, monitoring trends and producing reports for data analysis.
  • Manage the resolution of outstanding defects through external contractors or the CHP in-house team, ensuring value for money and recharging the original contractor as needed.
  • Offer expert advice on new build component warranties during the defects period, acting as lead officer for CHP Group’s NHBC builder responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in team management within new homes industry or similar sector.
  • Strong construction knowledge, particularly regarding defects and issues in new residential builds; building materials, trades and construction methods.
  • Familiarity with processes for defect resolution and customer service in a construction setting.
  • Confident in liaising with customers and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality work with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations, statutory requirements, construction warranties and building control.
  • Strong project and contract management skills.
