Sous Chef

Abacus Employment are recruiting for a sous chef based in the Windsor Area. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing Kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a passion for culinary arts, strong leadership abilities and a commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Duties

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation in the Kitchen
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
• Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency in dishes
• Ensure that all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
• Help develop new menu items and improve existing receipes based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback
• Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, good safety practices and kitchen procedures
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
• Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of food safety requlations and best practices for kitchen hygiene
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, fostering a positive team atmosphere
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
