Adult Learning Lewisham is looking for talented part time Supported Learning and/or Mindlift tutors to help enrich the lives of our learners.
The role
Adult Learning Lewisham is looking for passionate, sessional tutors with experience of teaching adults with SEND and/or mental health conditions in wide range of subject areas.
The Supported Learning and Mindlift provision at ALL, aims to support adult learners with SEND and/or mental health conditions, through a journey of agreed pathways that reflect each learner's inspiration and guides them towards reaching their full potential and fulfil their ambitions.
Both departments provide a wide range of inclusive courses and currently we are looking to further expand our provision through introducing new topics/subjects? as well as expanding our tutor pool to step in as covers.
The termly courses are 11 weeks long and take place on weekdays for a couple of hours mornings or afternoons. Course timetables are negotiated with the tutor to enable flexibility.
We are recruiting for the following subject areas:
Friends and Relationships (contributing to our learners' social skills development, including elements of sex education)
Table tennis
ICT for gaining a basic overview of using IT in everyday life
Pathways into work
Music – including making music, playing instruments, improvising music, singing, etc.
Cooking – healthy and accessible cooking, mindful cooking

Location
We offer courses across ALL learning centres (Granville Park, Brockley Rise and Grove Park) in Lewisham. We collaborate with local communities, charities, and health organisations to ensure accessibility of our provision for all residents.
What we're looking for
The post requires the tutor to:
design relevant and inclusive teaching and learning materials, that reflect the interests and needs of the learners, with the support of the curriculum leader;
complete and submit course documentation to support teaching learning and assessment, for example, schemes of work, lesson plans, electronic registers, learners' individual learning plans;
be confident in developing IT-based resources on our virtual learning environment (Moodle);
reviews learners' progress and support them to achieve their course and individual learning goals
establish their next steps in achieving future goals
participate in development workshops, attend staff meetings, and share best practice.
Applicants must have experience/or be qualified in teaching people with learning difficulties and disabilities. And have a relevant training/qualification in the subject area or should be willing to work towards a teaching qualification, which Adult Learning Lewisham will contribute towards.
Adult Learning Lewisham offers regular training to support tutors with the use of technologies and their development of best practices in teaching, learning and assessment.
