About Cornish Seal Sanctuary
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a dedicated marine wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre located in the picturesque region of Cornwall, UK. Established in 1958, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured seals back into their natural habitat. We are passionate about marine conservation and strive to educate the public about the importance of protecting our oceans and the creatures that inhabit them.
Our sanctuary provides a safe haven for various species of seals, including grey and common seals. Each year, we care for hundreds of seal pups that have been separated from their mothers or found stranded on the beaches. Our team of experienced marine mammal medics works tirelessly to ensure that these animals receive the best possible care, including veterinary treatment, nutrition, and rehabilitation.
In addition to our rescue efforts, we offer a range of educational programmes and activities for visitors of all ages. Our aim is to raise awareness about the challenges facing marine wildlife and inspire future generations to take action in protecting our oceans. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, interactive exhibits, and even meet some of our resident seals up close.
We also engage in vital research and conservation projects, collaborating with other organisations to monitor seal populations and assess the health of marine ecosystems. By participating in these initiatives, we contribute to the broader understanding of marine life and the impact of human activity on their habitats.
At the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, we believe that every small action can make a significant difference. We invite everyone to join us in our efforts to protect marine wildlife and promote sustainable practices. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for our oceans and the incredible creatures that call them home.
